Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering over a well-attended California shoreline suddenly started spinning out of control, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Footage posted on the internet capture the chopper starting to spin near the shoreline then descending near the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters said five individuals were taken to hospital involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three people on the road were injured. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.

Authorities mentioned the chopper was associated with an regular “Cars and Copters” fundraising event scheduled for the next day.
