A senior officer who jumped to the help of a partner that got attacked by a knife attacker has been awarded the King's Commendation for Valor.

Sgt Tim Ansell fought with 27-year-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a weapon to the throat of his partner Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the law enforcement personnel and their colleague, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a driver after a vehicle incident in that location in July 2023.
