Skydance Paramount Will Remove Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Update
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 US jobs as part of a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
These job cuts follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce full details during its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Prior news had indicated that Paramount planned to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, the company retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response regarding the report.
